Mysuru-based athletes Basavesh and Kajal Naresh Kumar participated in National Jiujitsu Championship, which was held in Cochin from Feb.1 to 4.
While Kajal Naresh Kumar (-55kg) won bronze medal each in Gi and no-Gi bracket, Basavesh (-69kg) won his first four fights and lost in quarter-final bout against an athlete representing Delhi.
This Championship was organised by Jiujitsu Association of India (JAI) under the aegis of Jiujitsu Asian Union.
Both athletes train at Genesis Mixed Martial Arts under Samith Bhat.
