Mysuru: The Excise Department that had recovered illicit liquor worth Rs.1.5 lakh which was being sold illegally in different places, has destroyed the same yesterday.
A total of 16 cases had been registered earlier in the district and 133 litres different brands of liquor and 62,250 litres of beer worth Rs.1.5 lakh had been recovered which were all destroyed at the Excise Superintendent Office in Nazarbad.
This illicit liquor was recovered while they were being distributed during the last elections and also by raiding a few shops.
The recovered illicit liquor was destroyed according to rules, said the Excise staff.
Excise Deputy Superintendent Thamanna, Inspector Manjunath and others were present.
