Expect heavy rains today and tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Even as the city witnessed good rainfall late night on Sunday and Monday, the Agricultural Research Station at Naganahalli near here, has predicted heavy rainfall accompanied by winds and thunderstorms today and tomorrow (Apr. 7 and 8).

The Station recorded 12 mm rainfall on an average across the city on Sunday midnight and a much higher rainfall of 22.5 mm on Monday midnight.

Maintaining that the rainfall is a seasonal one and is conducive for farming, the Station’s Senior Field Superintendent C. Prakash said that the rains are welcomed by farmers as they can take up agricultural activities such as sowing.

More rains are predicted on Tuesday and Wednesday, he said and added that the rainfall is a welcome relief for the people who were reeling under the scorching sun.
