The soaring mercury levels are set to drop further as the weatherman has predicted that the city will receive light to moderate rainfall till the next three days.  

Officials from Organic Farming Research Station at Naganahalli (OFRSN) on the outskirts of Mysuru has predicted more rains for three more days in city and surrounding areas.

Nagendra Babu, Research Associate at the ORFSN, told Star of Mysore that due to cyclonic circulation over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, light to moderate rainfall would continue for three more days in Mysuru.

He said that the maximum temperature yesterday (Mar. 7) was 31 degree Celsius and the minimum was 17 degree Celsius which would continue.

Yesterday evening, rainfall with thunder lashed parts of city bringing down temperatures to some extent. Heavy rains lashed Siddartha Layout, Raghavendranagar, K.R. Circle, Sayyaji Rao Road, Vijayanagar, Hebbal and surrounding places.

It rained for about two hours yesterday, providing a break till about 7.30 pm. It started pouring again after some time for about an hour. Mild showers lashed Kuvempunagar, Ramakrishnanagar, Bannimantap and surrounding areas. Motorists, pedestrians and school children and others were seen taking shelter at bus stops, petrol bunks and under-construction structures and other possible places to avoid getting drenched.

Nanjangud also received heavy rainfall with farmers heaving a sigh of relief. Rain water was seen flowing on the roads making it difficult for motorists, especially two-wheeler riders. T. Narasipur, Hunsur, Periyapatna, H.D. Kote and K.R. Nagar taluks too received moderate rainfall.
