Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Master of Business Administration (MBA), GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), had organised an expert talk for the students of MBA at GSSSIETW in city recently.
Kenji Kawamoto, who is associated with Mitsubishi for more than four decades and currently the Managing Director of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries-VST Diesel Engines Pvt. Ltd., Mysuru, delivered the expert talk.
He address the students about the current trends prevailing in the industry sector related to manufacturing and marketing of engines by Mitsubishi globally. The theme of the talk was use of variety of Mitsubishi engines especially in the agricultural sector.
He acclaimed that he was extremely happy to be associated with Indian conglomerate VST Diesel Engines Pvt. Ltd., Mysuru and shared fact that even three years ago in 2018, Mitsubishi, in association with VST Diesel Engines Pvt. Ltd., Mysuru, was capable of manufacturing one lakh engines, which has been exported to various countries abroad.
He also spoke about the quality aspects adopted in manufacturing like Kaizen, Poka-yoke, 5S and quality management system. Majority of the Diesel engines have been exported to US and European countries. The total engine production capacity in Mysuru division is approximately 30,000 units per annum. The engines are vastly used in-light towers, tractors, gensets and construction machinery.
Kenji Kawamoto advised the students to work hard to achieve success and also to posses in-depth knowledge in their area of specialisation chosen. He reminded the students that the ultimatum is making others happy, especially the farmers.
Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW, presided over the function and in his address, he gave a brief introduction about the College, MoUs signed with leading industries, funds fetched, achievements of students and faculty members to the guest speaker.
Dr. G. Nagalingappa, Professor and Head and Director, Strategic Initiatives, Dept. of MBA, welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries.
Dr. Aparna J. Varma, Associate Professor, Department of MBA, GSSSIETW, introduced the expert to the audience. Dr. V.K. Jayan, Associate Professor, Department of MBA, GSSSIETW, proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Kotresh Patil, Assistant Professor, was the Master of Ceremony.
