Expo of pen sketches of Nobel Laureates marks National Science Day

Mysuru: Marking National Science Day,  a day-long exhibition of pen sketches of 56 Nobel Laureates sketched by Science teacher and artist U.G. Mohan Kumar Aradhya was held at Suchitra Art Gallery in Kalamandira premises here yesterday.

The pen sketches included those of Sir C.V. Raman, Subramanya Chandrashekar, Hargobind Khurana, Mary Curie, Perry Curie, Edwin Nehar and others.

Inaugurating the expo, CFTRI Scientist Kollegal Sharma suggested the artist to hold such exhibitions at schools to educate the children. He observed that only a few Indians had won the Nobel Prize and wished that the number should increase. He opined that students should take up learning basic Science.

Karnataka Rajya Vijnana Parishat Executive Committee Member Krishnegowda presided. Retired Principal of Somani College H.S. Mallikarjuna Shastri was the chief guest.

Mohan Kumar Aradhya is a High School Science teacher from K.R. Nagar and is said to have sketched over 500 pictures related to Science using an ordinary ball point pen.
