‘Export is essential for survival of an industry’

Mysuru: Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), Mysuru, in association with Mysore Industries Association (MIA) had organised an interaction with Prashant Sait, Director, Export Study Cell, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), New Delhi at Rotary Hall on JLB Road here recently.

Entrepreneurs and industrialists of city participated in the meet.

Speaking on the occasion, Prashant Sait said that export was essential for the survival of industries and added that Karnataka stood fourth in export in the country. He pointed out that Karnataka had 18.06% share in India’s overall exports which can be further improved. He suggested new entrepreneurs to focus more on export.

Stating that every State was advocating its own strategy to improve the export sector, he added that a good export would boost the rupee value.

Addressing the gathering, former MLA and MIA President Vasu said that MIA was coming out with a common platform to facilitate exporters to meet and exchange views. NR Group Chairman R. Guru said that there was a growing demand abroad for organic products manufactured in India which was being exported to 70 countries. Techniques to increase the export potential of Karnataka was explained through a Power Point Presentation.

MIA Secretary Suresh Kumar Jain, Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President A.S. Satish, VTPC Mysore Branch Manager H. Varadaraju and others were present.
