Export Management training programme begins

Mysuru: There is a lot of competition in the world of business and huge challenges are being faced especially in the export sector, said District Industries Centre (DIC) Joint Director D.K. Lingaraju.

He was speaking after inaugurating the six-day export management training programme for industrialists and traders jointly organised by the Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), DIC and Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) at S.P. Bhat Hall in Institution of Engineers-India (IEI) premises here yesterday. He said that with countries like China entering every field, the exporters are facing a lot of problems and hence, one has to be competitive both price and quality wise.

The training is basically to cater to the industrialists and traders involved in exports or those keen to export and the experts will deal with foreign exchange and imports, he said and added that the training will also include field visit at the end of the programme.

VTPC Mysore Branch Manager H. Varadaraju, in his welcome address, said that the training will deal with Foreign Trade Policy and producers overview, introduction to IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) and its implications on stakeholders.

Nearly 22 trainees from Belagavi, Dharwad, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya and other places are participating in the programme. MCCI President A.S. Satish, Secretary Srishaila Ramannavar, Mysore Industries Association (MIA) Secretary Suresh Kumar Jain, ZP Khadi Gramodyog Dy. Director Ramesh Murthy, DIC Deputy Director Chowdaiah, Trainers S. Prasanna and Senior Consultant M.S. Sucheta were present.
