Mysuru, Oct. 13 (MK&DM)- The six-day Export Management Training workshop for industrialists, entrepreneurs and businessmen, organised under the joint aegis of Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), Bengaluru and District Industries Centre (DIC), Mysuru, began at The President Hotel on B.N. Road here this morning.
Speaking after inaugurating the workshop, VTPC Joint Director C.S. Babu Nagesh stressed on the need for increasing exports and reducing imports in order to further boost our economy. Pointing out that Karnataka is the fourth biggest exporter in the country, he highlighted that there is a big profit in exports, for which we have to undertake a proper global market survey. “The manufacturers should first gain solid ground in local markets and then go for exports. VTPC is the only full-fledged centre in the State that guides and promotes export of goods and services to foreign countries. The participants can contact the VTPC for any clarifications or confusions regarding export matters. The VTPC has put up the time schedules of expos and marketing fairs around the world, in its website. The entrepreneurs can visit these expos and market their products, for which the Centre is always ready to extend help,” Babu Nagesh said and called upon the industry and business fraternity to make best use of this export training workshop.
Mysuru Industries Association (MIA) General Secretary Suresh Kumar Jain, MCCI Secretary Shivajirao, VTPC Convenor Aravind Bhat, L. Meghala, Deputy Director of Khadi and Village Industries Board, Mysuru and VTPC Export Facility Centre, Mysuru and others were present.
The 6-day workshop, which concludes on Oct. 18, features sessions, talks and modules on export management, promotion etc.
