Factory employee killed in accident

Mysuru: An employee of J.K. Tyres, who was crossing the Ring Road, was killed when a speeding car rammed into him yesterday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Rangaswamy (50), a resident of Nanjangud.

Yesterday afternoon, Rangaswamy was crossing the Ring Road to proceed towards Urs Kar showroom when a speeding Maruti Swift car (KA-04 MP-3607) rammed into him.

The impact was so severe that Rangaswamy was tossed in the air and landed on the front windshield of the car resulting in serious injuries to him.

Though he was rushed to the hospital, he breathed his last in the evening after failing to respond to the treatment.

V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who have taken the car driver into custody, have registered a case.
