Fake death certificate to grab property

Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing miscreants of obtaining his Death Certificate to grab his property even though he was very much alive, a contractor has lodged a complaint at V.V. Puram Police Station in city.

Details: K.R. Mahesh, a native of Kottavalli Koppal village in Periyapatna taluk and currently residing in Srirampura 1st Stage in city is the one who has lodged the complaint. In his complaint, 50-year-old Mahesh has stated that one Vrushabendra, son of Muddappa and Ningamma (Eeramma) couple of Kottavalli Koppal village had died of COVID at a private hospital in city on May 9, 2020, but Vrushabendra’s wife 50-year-old K.H. Sudha and her two children had provided false information that K.R. Mahesh had died of COVID and had obtained the Death Certificate in his name.

He has further stated that his parents’ names were also mentioned in the Death Certificate and to grab his property, his (Mahesh) Death Certificate has been obtained from the MCC Zone-4 Office.

Based on the complaint from Mahesh, V.V. Puram Police who have registered a case under IPC section 120B, 420, 467, 468, 470, 471 and 34, are investigating.
