Srirangapatna: Fed up with frequent quarrels, a couple committed suicide by hanging self at separate places in K. Shettahalli village in Srirangapatna taluk yesterday.

The deceased are Vidya (32) and Purushotham (46). The couple had two sons aged seven and five.

It is learnt that frequent quarrels used to take place between the couple and yesterday, when Purushotham, who works at a private company in Mysuru left for work, Vidya allegedly hanged herself at her house.

Purushotham, who was informed about his wife’s death, rushed to the village, reportedly brought down the body of his wife which was hanging, later went to the field nearby and hanged himself. The hasty decision of the couple has left their children orphaned.

Srirangapatna rural Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
