Nanjangud: A 35-year-old farmer died in a suspected wild boar attack at Hadya village near Malkundi in Nanjangud taluk yesterday.
The deceased is Rangaswamy (35), a resident of Hadya. He was returning home from Hura village on his motorcycle when a wild boar suddenly charged across the road. The animal is said to have rammed into his motorcycle, causing him to lose balance and fall.
Hearing his screams for help, villagers rushed to the spot and found Rangaswamy lying in a pool of blood, with the wild boar reportedly fleeing into the nearby forest. The severely injured Rangaswamy was shifted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, where he died.
Hullahalli Police have registered a case. However, Forest Department officials have stated that there is no conclusive evidence to confirm that a wild boar attacked Rangaswamy.
They said preliminary findings suggest that he might have been under the influence of alcohol and could have died in a self-accident after his motorcycle skidded.
They said that the next course of action will be decided after receiving the Police report.
