Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene have urged the State Government not to hold Dasara this year in view of Covid-19 and spend the money planned for Nada Habba on Corona prevention.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Badagalapura Nagendra said people have lost jobs due to Corona and farmers have lost the crops owing to floods. There was spike in Corona positive cases and hundreds of people were dying daily. Under this circumstance, it was not right on the part of the state government to hold ten-day Dasara festival. High Committee on Dasara headed by Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa should take a decision against holding it this year.
He advised the CM to spend the money earmarked for the Dasara festival on treating Corona positive patients, improving facilities at Covid-19 care centres and helping Corona Warriors.
