Farmers to stage protest at Dist. Headquarters on July 3

Mysuru: The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS), will stage a demonstration at all District Headquarters of the State on July 3 to press the Government for evolving a comprehensive farm loan waiver policy and stipulation of fair price for all agricultural produce.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here recently, KRRS leader Badagalapura Nagendra said that the Rs. 50,000 per farmer farm loan waiver announced by the State Government recently was not enough for the farming community, which is in deep distress on account of severe drought and crop loss.

Massive rally at MP: Urging the Government to come up with a new farmer- friendly loan policy, Nagendra said that a massive rally of farmers will be taken out on July 6 at Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh (MP) where six farmers were killed in Police firing recently.

At New Delhi: Farmers representing 134 Kisan organisations from across the country will take part in the rally, he said and added that a massive convention of farmers will be held at New Delhi on Oct. 2, marking Gandhi Jayanti, to seek redressal of agrarian issues.
