Faulty fare meters: Cops impose penalty on 20 auto-rickshaw drivers, collect Rs.10,000 fine

Mysuru: The Mysuru City Traffic Police and the officials of the Department of Legal Metrology, who conducted a joint operation near KSRTC Sub Urban Bus Stand on Saturday, have booked 20 drivers of passenger auto-rickshaws for faulty meters and not renewing the same, besides collecting a total of Rs. 10,000 fine from them.

The drive was conducted under the supervision of DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe in which Legal Metrology Department Inspector Mahadevaswamy and Devaraja Traffic Inspector Srinivas and staff took part.

City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao, in a press release has stated that the drive against faulty fare meters would continue and has urged auto-rickshaw drivers and owners to rectify the fare meters and renew the same at the earliest.
