FDP on “Advances in wireless network” held

Mysuru: The Department of Electronics and Communication, JSS Science and Technology University, had organised  a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Advances in wireless network” on Oct.3 and 4 to  provide information on various aspects and developments in the field of wireless communication.

Dr. Dhadesugoor R. Vaman, Chief Technology Officer of Digital Compression Technology Corporation and Texas A&M University Systems Regents Professor, USA, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the programme in the CS/IS auditorium of SJCE.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vaman dwelt on the endless possibilities of the wireless systems for the future and for the present.

Wireless technology has undergone drastic changes, and is a field that is constantly evolving. The developments in 5G technology, problems regarding spectrum allocation, improvements in Internet of Things, security and privacy issues in the current as well and the new technologies etc., are some of the sub-divisions of this field that are being researched.

Dr. M.H. Kori, Chairman of IMAPS India and retired Technical Director of Alcatel Lucent Technologies, was the guest of honour. Dr. T.N. Nagabhushan, Principal of SJCE, presided. Dr. Shankaraiah, Head, Department of E&C, Coordinators Dr. T. Shreekanth, Assistant Professor, Department of E&C and N. Shivaprasad, Assistant Professor, Department of E&C, were  present.
