Fee will ward off bird-watchers

Lingambudhi Lake frequented by bird-watchers & photographers too

Sir,

This is in reference to the letter titled ‘Keep Lingambudhi Lake free for walkers’ written by Ravindraa and published in Star of Mysore dated Aug. 29.

I would like to add a few more points: Lingambudhi Lake is not only for walkers, but also for regular bird-watchers, photographers and nature-lovers. They are also affected by the Forest Department’s decision to introduce an entry fee to the park/ lake/ forest area.

From September to April, the bird activity starts and we expect more birds of different species. If they make the entry fee compulsory, it will discourage regular bird-watchers, photographers, nature-lovers and they might stop visiting the vast lake area.
