Mysore/Mysuru: Natyacharya Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao, the Founder-Member of Bharatiya Nrityakala Parishat (BNKP), Mysuru, which is the first collective of Classical dancers in Karnataka, has served the Parishat for more than four decades in different positions till 2017. He is also the Founder-Director of Noopura Kalavidaru Samskrutika Trust, Mysuru.
On account of him receiving Rajyotsava Award 2025, his disciples are felicitating him in association with BNKP at Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar tomorrow (Apr. 5).
6 pm: Vidu. Srividya Rao and disciples of Sri Durga Nritya Academy, Mysuru, will present Bharatanatyam; 6.30 pm: Stage programme. JSS Mahavidyapeetha Collegiate Education Division Assistant Director B. Niranjanamurthy will inaugurate. BNKP President Guru Vidushi Dr. Sheela Sridhar will preside. Nrityalaya Trust Director Vidushi Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra and Dr. C.G. Prahlad Rao will be the chief guests; 7.30 pm: Nritya Namana by disciples of Prof. Rao — Vidu. Sabina Lohiya of Chitra Fine Arts & Sri Kalamandira, Bengaluru and Vidu. Padmini Achchi’s disciples of Achchi Classical Dance Centre, Bengaluru.
