Financial loss: Man commits suicide at city lodge

Mysore/Mysuru: Unable to overcome his financial loss, a 52-year-old man committed suicide by hanging self in the room of a lodge in Lakshmipuram Police limits on Wednesday night.

The deceased is Ramesh, a resident of Kuvempunagar in city. According to Lakshmipuram Inspector Venkatesh, Ramesh, who was running a finance and real estate business is said to have suffered huge financial loss and unable to recover his loss he fell into deep financial crisis leading him taking the extreme step.

The Inspector further said that Ramesh had checked into a lodge near City Courts Complex on Tuesday and had met his friends on Wednesday. 

The suicide came to light on Thursday morning and a death note was found in his pocket, the Inspector said and added that Ramesh has mentioned a few names in the death note besides stating that as those persons did not return his money on time he (Ramesh) had fallen into deep financial crisis.

Lakshmipuram Police, who have registered a case of Unnatural Death, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted today and the body was handed over to the deceased’s family members.
