Mysore/Mysuru: Fire has destroyed about 20 acre grassland at Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) premises in Hebbal Industrial area yesterday afternoon.
The fire was noticed by BEML staff at about 1.45 pm and they immediately informed the Hebbal Fire Station. The Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed to the spot along with a fire extinguishing vehicle managed to douse the fire in a five-hour-long operation.
Hebbal Fire Station staff Venkatesh said that about five tanks of water was used to extinguish the fire. Fire staff Y.T. Mahadev and others took part in the operation.
