Mysuru: The 64th one-day workshop on first-aid for industrial workers and supervisors was organised by Nanjangud Industries Association (NIA) at a private hotel in city yesterday.
Inaugurating the programme, SP C.B. Ryshyanth opined that safety was of utmost importance for self and indirectly for the dependants. He observed that safety aspects were strictly followed as per a protocol abroad and expected such an observance in India also. He added that first-aid would be a great saver in times of emergency.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Director of Factories H. Suresh asserted that first-aid kits were compulsory in all factories and management should refill the first-aid kit periodically. He opined that selected workers and supervisors should also be trained in first-aid handling. He asked people to be aware of safety aspects everywhere be it handling LPG stove or at work place.
Over 100 workers and supervisors of various industries participated in the workshop.
NIA President M.S. Ramaprasad, Hon. Secretary B.S. Chandrashekar, St. John’s Ambulance Association Secretary Dr. B. Prakash and others were present.
