Arakere Police have arrested five dacoits who were waiting on the highway near Chikkankanahali village to commit the crime on Saturday night.
The arrested have been identified as Chethu, Manu and Madhu of Cheeranahalli and Chethu and Abhi of KRS. The Police are said to have seized a machete, wicket, sticks and chilly powder from the accused.
Arakere Police, based on an information that a group of dacoits were hatching a plot to commit dacoity near Chikkankanahali village on Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway in Srirangapatna taluk, raided the place and were successful in nabbing the five accused.
Arakere SI Azaruddin led the raid. The accused were produced before the Court.
