Mysuru: The five-day training programme for roadside vendors in maintaining the quality of food, began at Ideal Jawa Rotary Hall on JLB Road in the city on Friday.
Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is conducting the training programme, in association with National Roadside Vendors Association, Town Vending Committee and Nestle Company.
MCC Commissioner Ashaad-Ur-Rahman Shariff, who inaugurated the training programme, said that the roadside vendors should obtain the certificate from MCC by submitting the relevant documents and conduct their business in the place allotted to them and keep the place hygienic and maintain the quality of food, towards ensuring the health of general public.
Daily 100 roadside vendors will be trained and issued certificates, totalling 500 vendors in five days.
Additional Commissioner of MCC Kusuma Kumari, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) J.S. Somashekar, Zonal Officers, Assistant Director for Food Safety Dr. Ravindra and the Members of Town Vending Committee Ravi, Shankar, Vishwanath, Guruswamy, Bharat, Umapathy and others were present.
