Five doctors get National Ayurveda Awards

Mysuru: Five renowned doctors from across the country have been selected for the prestigious National Ayurveda Awards instituted by Prashanthi Ayurveda Centre from this year, to mark Dhanvanthri Jayanti.

Dr. B. G. Gopinath of Bengaluru will be bestowed  with ‘Ayurveda Ratna’ Award for Lifetime Achievement. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, a gold medal and a copper citation.

Dr. Shailesh Nadkarni, a senior doctor of Mumbai, will be bestowed with ‘Ayurveda Visharada’ Award. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.75,000 and a gold medal. Dr. L. Mahadevan of Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu will be bestowed with ‘Ayurveda Vibhushana’ Award, for the Best Ayurveda Physician. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.60,000, a gold medal  and a copper citation.

Dr. N. Srikanth of New Delhi will be bestowed with ‘Ayurveda Bhooshana’ Award  for Best Ayurveda Specialist. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 45,000, a gold medal and a citation.

Dr. H. Hanumantharaya of Bengaluru will be bestowed with ‘Ayurveda Shri’ Award for excelling in Ayurveda Medicine formulations. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.30,000, a gold medal and a citation. The awards will be presented at Bengaluru in December.
