Flag Day commemorates sacrifices made by Army personnel

Mysuru: JSS Science & Technology University celebrated the Armed Forces Flag Day at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) in city recently.

The Flag Day was organised to commemorate the supreme sacrifices made by Army personnel for protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country and securing lives of the civilians against the threats of insurgency and terrorism as well as providing rescue and relief during natural calamities.

Brig. (retd.) Vinod Kumar Adappa, SM, was the guest speaker.  Vinod Kumar Adappa was commissioned into the Indian Army in the year 1981. He was first posted as a Second Lieutenant at the high altitude sector of Sikkim on the Chinese border. He has served along China, Pakistan, Burma, Bangladesh and Nepal borders.

Prof. B.G. Sangameshwara, Vice-Chancellor, JSS Science & Technology University and Prof. K.S. Lokesh, Registrar, JSS Science & Technology University, were the guests of honour.

Prof. T.N. Nagabhushan, Principal, SJCE, presided over the programme.

Chief Administrative Officer Col. S. Neeraj Roy co-ordinated the event.
