Mysuru: It is a matter of pride that a well-known flautist of our city, Vidwan Mysore V. Vamshidhar, will be performing at Raga-Mala Music Society, Edmonton, Canada, on Nov.2. 

Vid. Vamshidhar belongs to a family of musical luminaries with a rich cultural background. He is the grandson and disciple of Flute Maestro Vid. V. Desikachar, a flautist par excellence. He is now under the tutelage of his uncle Vainika Vidwan D. Balakrishna, son of Padma Bhushan Mysore V. Doreswamy Iyengar. 

Vid. Vamshidhar is an A-Graded artiste of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan. He has many awards to his credit. He has toured across the country and abroad enthralling the audience. He is presently employed in State Bank of India, Mysuru.
