Mysuru: Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Mahasabha, Veerashaiva Lingayat Associations and Basava Balaga Okkuta, Mysuru, had organised a programme at Rajendra Bhavan in JSS Hospital premises here recently to pay tributes to advocate H. Gangadharan, Dr. C.N. Mruthyunjayappa and scholar S. Nanjundaiah, who passed away in city recently.
Floral tributes were paid to the portraits of the three achievers in various fields.
Speaking on the occasion, RSS Senior Pracharak S. Ramanna opined that former MLA and Senior Advocate H. Gangadharan had contributed immensely to social service. He said that Gangadharan had struggled a lot to get people released from jails during Emergency period. He added that Gangadharan was truly a multi-faceted person.
Sharing his thoughts, writer Prof. Maleyuru Guruswamy said that Dr. Mruthyunjayappa was a noble doctor providing free medical service to tribals in forest region of HD Kote and added that the doctor had volunteered service to injured people during Indo-Pak war.
Prof. Guruswamy recalled that Nanjundaiah was a scholar par excellence in Kannada literature and good in delivering lectures and discourses.
Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji graced the occasion.
MLAs A.H. Vishwanath, S. A. Ramdas, litterateur Dr.C.P. Krishnakumar, former MLC D. Madegowda, Okkuta President K. Shivakumar, General Secretary Somashekar and others were present.
