Flute concert at Vasudevacharya’s house in city on Oct.19

Mysore/Mysuru: Poornima Krishna Emani, a young talented artiste from Vijayawada, will be presenting a flute concert at Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya’s house in city on Oct.19.

She will be accompanied by Vid. Rupanagudi Ratna Teja on violin and Vid. M.R. Udaya Kumar on mridanga. The concert, scheduled to start at 10.30 am, is open to the public.

A child prodigy, Poornima started learning music from her mother Emani Lalitha Krishna, an established Veena player. She learnt flute from Vid. V. Nagaraju, a renowned flautist and a staff artiste of AIR – Hyderabad.

Presently, Poornima is under the tutelage of ‘Sangeetha Kala Acharya’  Seetha Narayanan and Dr. Niranjana Srinivasan. An M. Music. from Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University, she is a recipient of prestigious Pt. Jasraj Award for 2012 and “Shanmukhananda Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship award”  for 2021.

Vid. Ratnateja, trained by Dr. Mysore Manjunath, is a promising young violinist. Vid. Manjunath, who served in Mysore Police Band for a long time, is a well-known mridangist in city.
