Flute Concert on Friday

Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised a Karnatak Flute Concert in memory of Smt. Vasantha Lakshmi and sponsored by Smt. Indumati Srinivasan on Nov. 24 (Friday) at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar,  by Vid. Vamshidhar.

The above programme will be accompanied by Vid. Achyutha Rao on violin, Vid. B.C. Manjunath on mridanga and Vid. Sunaad Anoor on kanjira.

Vidwan Vamshidhar hails from an illustrious family of musicians which include Asthana Vidwan M. Venkatesha Iyengar, ‘Sangeetha Kalanidhi’ Dr. V. Doreswamy Iyengar (Padma Bhushan awardee) and Venu Vidwan V. Desikachar. He was tutored by his grandfather Vidwan V. Desikachar and he is presently being mentored by his uncle Vidwan D. Balakrishna, a renowned veena artiste.

Vamshidhar is known for his traditional and classical style. The dedication of Vamshidhar has been recognised by many Sangeetha Sabhas and Institutions which have bestowed on him many awards and titles. He has won ‘Best Junior Instrumentalist Award-2018’ by prestigious Madras Music Association and he also has the distinction of winning the first place in National-level AIR Competition in year 2003.
