Flybus service good but Mysuru bus stand experience is bad

Sir,

As a frequent visitor from USA, I have appreciated the services provided by Flybus for travel from Kempegowda International Airport Limited (KIAL), Bengaluru to Mysuru.

However, upon arrival at the Mysuru Sub-Urban Bus Stand, my experience has been disappointing. There is a notable absence of a proper drop-off point for Flybus, leaving passengers to navigate their way without adequate facilities.

It would greatly enhance the traveller’s experience to establish a designated drop-off area with shelter and a decent platform that seamlessly connects to the prepaid auto location. The current situation, where passengers have to manoeuvre their luggage amidst unhygienic conditions, has persisted unchanged for the last 10 years.

Additionally, the prepaid auto service could benefit from significant improvements in terms of queuing arrangements and luggage handling. Modernising this facility to align with current standards would contribute to a more efficient and traveller-friendly experience. Furthermore, when departing from Mysuru to catch the Flybus to KIAL, there is a glaring lack of convenient arrangements. Whether taking an auto or cab, passengers face the challenge of finding a suitable drop-off point, compelling them to drag their luggage on the road amidst other traffic.

It is disheartening that the Mysuru city administration and the KSRTC have not addressed these fundamental issues, especially considering the positive changes implemented at KIAL.

It appears that there is a lack of initiative to enhance conditions for travellers in Mysuru.

As an architect, I am willing to offer my assistance in finding viable solutions to these challenges. I believe that by addressing these issues collectively, we can contribute to an improved travel experience in Mysuru and better position the city to compete with others in terms of infrastructure and amenities. I hope, positive transformations can be realised in city’s transportation facilities.
