Mysuru: Various folk troupes from across the State, which participated in the Jumboo Savari yesterday, mesmerised lakhs of spectators who had come to witness the grand finale, through their art, which showcased the rich tradition and culture of the State.
About 40 folk troupes took part in the procession, which commenced from the Mysore Palace and concluded at the Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap here. Some of the folk troupes that took part in the procession are as follows:
Kombukahale: This troupe was led by H. Kantharaju Cheelangi and Swamy of Sunkaathonnur in Pandavapura, who captured the attention of the spectators by playing the music instrument.
Dollu Kunita: This folk troupe was led by K. Durgamma and team from Kudlagi in Ballari and Sadashiva Duradandi and team from Gokak in Belagavi.
Jaggalagi Mela: Mylarappaiah Maadaara from Ramadurga in Belagavi and Basappa Hanchinamani troupe from Jai Bheemnagar in Dharwad performed Jaggalagi Mela.
Tamate Nagaari: Members of Shankaramani troupe from Ambedkar Nagar, Mysuru and Manjunath from B.B. Keri here presented Tamate Nagaari.
Chande Mela: This folk art was presented by Vasudeva Bannanje and troupe from Bannanje in Udupi.
Gondara Dakke: For the first time, Gondara Dakke folk art was showcased in the Jumboo Savari by Sankaiah and team from Shivamogga.
Kamsale: M. Mahadeva from Badagalahundi in Mysuru taluk and Mahadev from Rayanahundi along with other artistes performed Kamsale.
Budubuduke: Gangulappa and team from Chikkaballapur performed Budubuduke grabbing the attention of onlookers.
This apart, folk troupes such as Puja Kunita by Ramesh and Mohan Kumar teams from Mandya, Karadi Majjalu by Veerappa Gadaada from Belagavi and Sangaiah Gopoojari from Bagalkot, Tamate Nagaari by Kathi Muneshwara Yuvakara Kala Thanda and Mookambika troupes from Mysuru, Fakirara Dappu by members of Imam Saab Vallyappanavar team performed for the first time in the procession, Koragara Dolu from Udupi, Lambani dance from Raichur, Somana Kunita from Ramanagar, Kangilu Dance from Dakshina Kannada, Kolata from Hassan, Hejje Mela from Ballari, Garudi Gombe from Pandavapura, Halage Mela from Koppal, Karadi Sammala from Vijayapura, Malnad Suggi Kunita from Kodagu and other folk troupes took part.
About 1,600 artistes from various folk troupes took part in the procession. They were followed by Karnatak Music team, Nadaswara by Vid. Nataraju of Mysuru and the Police English Band which mesmerised lakhs of spectators.

1st: Budubuduke – Gangulappa & team from Chikkaballapur; 2nd: Sindolla Kunita – Sri Doddaramanna & team, Ballari and Gondara Dakke – Sri Sankaiah & team, Shivamogga; 3rd: Siddidamami Dance – Julian Pedro Fernandes, Uttara Kannada.
Pichhalli Srinivas, Dr. Nanjaiah Honganuru, K.J. Narayan and Dr. Kyathanahalli Ramanna were the judges.
