Food officials visit fair price shops to check distribution

Mysore/Mysuru: Officials of the Department of Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, on Friday paid a surprise visit to several Fair Price Shops (FPS) in city to review the Public Distribution System (PDS).

An official team of the Department checked the FPS for distribution, quantity and quality of ration, grains and other articles supplied by the Union Government under the PDS.

The officials also enquired whether the ration card holders were satisfied with the PDS.

The officials were happy with the feedback that they got from ration card holders, most of whom expressed satisfaction regarding the quality of ration.

The team, comprising Avik Bhattacharya, Rajeev Ranjan and others visited the FPS in Mysuru, T. Narasipur and Nanjangud, during which officials of the State Govt’s Food and Civil Supplies Department were present.
