Footpath encroachment clearance drive yields Rs. 5,400 spot fines

Mysore/Mysuru: Continuing their efforts to clear footpaths of encroachments to  make was for pedestrians, the Mysuru City Traffic Police conducted a footpath encroachment clearance drive yesterday too at various places in city.

The drives were conducted by Devaraja, Krishnaraja, Narasimharaja, Siddarthanagar and V.V. Puram Traffic Police at Devaraj Urs Road 1st Cross, Krishnaraja Boulevard Road, Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road, Vinaya Marga, Male Mahadeshwara Road and Hootagalli KHB Colony Road and the Cops have registered 19 cases under Karnataka Police Act and 18 cases under Indian Motor Vehicle Act besides issuing 25 notices and collecting a total sum of Rs. 5,400 as spot fines.
