Forest staff clear weeds along Bandipur Road

Gundlupet: Heavy rain in the recent past in the taluk had enhanced greenery adjoining the road passing through Bandipur Tiger Reserve forest.

However, along with the grass, a lot of Lantana and other wild growth too had come up curtailing the growth of good grass and the weeds had spread to the roads inconveniencing the motorists and even wild animals trying to cross the roads.

Sensing danger, the staff of the Forest Department have begun clearing the weeds. Project Tiger Director Ambadi Madhav said that about 30 metres on either side of the road from Melukamanahalli gate to Kekkanahalla check-post would be cleared of weeds.
