Former Bhadravathi MLA Appajigowda passes away

Shivamogga: Senior JD(S) leader and former Bhadravathi MLA M.J. Appajigowda passed away at a Shivamogga Hospital late on Wednesday evening. He was 69. He had reportedly tested positive for Coronavirus and was admitted to the Hospital a few days ago after developing chest pain.

Appajigowda, a three-time MLA was elected on a JD(S) ticket in 2013 and lost the Assembly polls in 2018. Earlier, he was twice elected as an independent candidate.

Recently, two former MLAs- C. Guruswamy (Chamarajanagar) and Raja Madanagopal Nayak (Raichur) also died reportedly due to the pandemic.
