Mysore/Mysuru: Former Karnataka Chief Secretary K. Ratna Prabha has called upon women to exert pressure on Governments for more quantum of reservation for women.
She was speaking after inaugurating the International Women’s Day celebration organised by Women In Small Enterprise (WISE), a ladies wing of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) at a private hotel here recently.
Pointing out that digital marketing is increasingly becoming popular by the day, Ratna Prabha said women entrepreneurs should make use of this and expand their markets.
Noting that though the country’s economy stands fifth in the world, the contribution of women in this growth is not more than 15-20 percent. This percentage should increase to 45-50, for which women should concentrate more on industry and entrepreneurship and the Governments too should promote women enterprises, she said observed.
Stressing on the need for a mutual co-ordination and understanding between women entrepreneurs, she said that proper networking is key for success in marketing.
“Women should save some money for their future. They should invest in saving schemes so that the money comes in handy for them in their old age”, she said and called upon women entrepreneurs to always look for new opportunities for expanding their marketing network.
FKCCI Vice-President Uma Reddy, in her address, said that women entrepreneurs should identify themselves in frontline organisations and engage themselves in online platforms.
