Former CM Siddharamaiah hosts Iftar party

Mysuru: As part of the Holy Month of Ramzan, former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah hosted an Iftar party at a convention hall on Mysuru-Bengaluru road here yesterday.

As soon as Siddharamaiah entered the venue, thousands of Muslim brethren wished him. Some youths were seen vying with each other to click selfies with the former CM.

Siddharamaiah mingled freely with the gathering and even served food for sometime.

The party also had a touch of politics, with some in the gathering demanding Siddharamaiah that N.R. Congress MLA Tanveer Sait been made a Minister in the JD(S) – Congress coalition Government.

Although Tanveer Sait tried to pacify his supporters they refused to budge and continued to raise slogans seeking Ministership for their leader.

Even as Siddharamaiah, went to the spot where food was offered, hundreds of Congress workers rushed towards him at once. The Police had a hard time in controlling them.

Minister U.T. Khader, MLAs Tanveer Sait and Dr. Yathindra,  former MLA M.K. Somashekar, MLC Dharmasena and others were present.
