Former Congress Minister Rani Satish accuses HDK of insulting women

Mysore/Mysuru: Former Congress Minister Rani Satish has accused Mandya Lok Sabha Constituency BJP-JD(S) coalition candidate and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy (HDK) of making insulting remarks against women in respect of the Congress’ poll guarantees.

Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan near the City Railway Station here yesterday, Rani Satish alleged that Kumaraswamy’s  remark that ‘women have gone astray’ is condemnable.

Maintaining that the implementation of pre-poll guarantees had hugely benefitted the poor and the exploited women, she said  it is really astonishing to note that HDK, being a former CM had made such a humiliating remark against women.

Charging PM Modi of spreading falsehood that the Congress had done nothing in its 60 years of rule, the former Minister asserted that it was the Congress which led the country in the right path after getting independence from the Britishers.

Stressing on the need for every citizen to cast vote, she said that the voters should make a wise choice by electing Congress candidate M. Lakshmana, who has been fighting for public cause since decades.

City Congress President R. Murthy, former Mayors Pushpalatha Chikkanna and Modamani, Congress leaders Pushpavalli, Latha Mohan, Sharada Sampath, Chandrakala, Krishnakumari and others were present.

Later, Rani Satish undertook a poll campaign in several parts of Devaraja Mohalla and sought votes for Lakshmana.

Former Mayor B.K. Prakash and other leaders were present.
