Former Mayor urges MCC to facilitate Khata transfer of sites in J.P. Nagar layouts

Mysore/Mysuru: Former Mayor B.L. Bhyrappa has urged the MCC to facilitate Khata transfer of sites and other landed properties in layouts which have been formed over 30 years ago.

Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Bhyrappa observed that it was meaningless on the part of the MCC to ask site owners of several layouts to get their properties bifurcated from MUDA, for getting the Khata transfer done. This direction of the MCC has driven over a  thousand site owners to a lot of hardship, he added.

Pointing out that residential layouts in J.P. Nagar such as Siddalingeshwara Layout, Revenue Colony and Bank Layout have been formed over 30 years ago, Bhyrappa said that it is wrong on the part of the MCC, which is earning revenues for the past 30 years by stipulating tax, to place hurdles now for Khata transfer of sites and other landed properties in these layouts.

Quoting a Supreme Court ruling which said that those who are living in a site of any classification for over 30 years should be rendered as the owner of the site, he said adding that the MCC should take note of this Supreme Court ruling and allow Khata transfer of sites.

He further wanted to know why the MCC was placing hurdles when the BBMP (Bengaluru Bruhat Mahanagara Palike) has allowed sale of B Khata sites and other  landed properties.
