Former MLA launches COVID Helplines, distributes kits

Mysore/Mysuru: Former MLA M.K. Somashekar in association with Sujeev Seva Samsthe will be distributing free medicine kits for COVID positive patients in K.R. Constituency.

Addressing a press conference at his Office this morning, Somashekar said, “The State Government has now imposed curfew to contain the spread of pandemic. In an effort to help those who have been infected with the virus, we will be distributing medicine kits to each COVID positive patient in K.R.   Each medicine kit would contain a digital thermometer, a steam inhaler, a bio-degradable cover, an aluminum box for carrying lunch, a mask, 500 ml sanitiser as well as medicines (Dolo 650, Doxylin 100, Limcee, Zincovit and Cetirizine tablets) for seven days.”

Helplines

The ex-MLA also launched the following helplines for COVID-19 related queries: 98803-90463 (Nagamahadeva),  87223-39060 (Mahendra) and  98803-90463 (Gunasekhar).

“We will also be supplying oxygen to those patients who have been isolated and using small oxygen cylinders at home for respiratory issues,” he added.

He urged the State Government to tackle the pandemic in a more effective and organised way. “Even after 50 days, people are unable to get Covaxin second dose or Covishield first dose. People are standing in serpentine queues to get RT-PCR test. We are facing acute shortage of hospital beds, oxygen and ventilators. I urge the Government to establish isolation centres and increase testing in coming days.”
