Former MLA, wife, others booked for forgery

Mysore/Mysuru: Former MLA M.K. Somashekar, his wife L. Kusuma, officers of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and a Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) of Gram Panchayat (GP) have been booked on charges of forging documents to develop a residential layout illegally at Udbur in Jayapura hobli in the district.

Following  a complaint by Adeesh Sagar, a Court here has passed the order, on the basis of which Nazarbad Police have filed a case under IPC Sections  120B, 406, 409, 420, 425, 427, 464, 465, 468 and 471.

In his complaint, Sagar has alleged that Somashekar’s wife Kusuma had 9 acres-21 guntas of land at Survey Nos. 315 and 317, at Udbur village in Jayapura hobli. Despite not having an approach road to the land, a forged document was created claiming the existence of road to develop sites, in connivance with MUDA Officers and PDO of Udbur GP.

Ex-MLA clarifies

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Somashekar, who denied any wrongdoing, however alleged that “The complainant in the case is a RTI activist who tried to extort money from me. As I was legally correct, I turned down his demand. Following this, he moved Court and filed a complaint on the basis of some frivolous documents. Most importantly, no plan  (of residential layouts) will be approved without any approach road. I have all the documents in my possession to prove my point. I will submit those documents to the Court and also to the media at an appropriate time.”
