Former Mysore Municipal Commissioner S. Swatantra Rao passes away

Mysore/Mysuru: S. Swatantra Rao (80), an IAS Officer, who had served as the Commissioner of Mysore Municipality (now Mysuru City Corporation) from 1974 to 1976, passed away at his residence in RMV Extension, Bengaluru, on Sept. 11, following brief illness.

He leaves behind his wife Suguna Rao, daughters Suhasini Dammu, Shanthipriya – Principal Accountant General – Audit, Karnataka and Sunilakumari, son IRS Officer Anil Kumar- Commissioner, Customs and Service Tax, Kolkata and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at Oduru village, in West Godvari District of Andhra Pradesh  on Sept. 13.
