Former President Dr. Radhakrishnan’s grandson Desiraju visits Mysuru

Former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s grandson and retired IAS Officer Keshav Desiraju, who was in Mysuru, visited the Heritage Bungalow (now housing Dr. S. Radhakrishnan’s Centre for Philosophy & Indian Culture) at Saraswathipuram here where the former President resided while in Mysuru. He also visited other places where Dr. Radhakrishnan spent most of his time.

Desiraju, who retired as the Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, had also visited the AII India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) to take part in a meeting. He is the son of Shakunthala, youngest daughter of Dr. Radhakrishnan, who had five daughters.

During his visit, Desiraju looked at some of the rare pictures of Dr. Radhakrishnan and his collection of books on display at the Centre. He was accompanied by AIISH PRO Keerthi Kumar, Department of Studies in Computer Science Head Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar and UoM retired Librarian Dr. C.P. Ramashesh. Desiraju was felicitated with a shawl and was also given a copy of ‘Tatva Darshana: Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vicharadhare’ published by UoM.
