Former VC calls for effective usage of research capabilities of young people

Former University of Mysore and KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa speaking during a national seminar on ‘University Connect Hub-Engaging Young Minds’, in Mysuru recently.

Mysore/Mysuru: Former University of Mysore and KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa observed that effective usage of research capabilities of young minds hold key for the country in leading Science, Technology and Research fronts in the world.

He was speaking at the One-day National seminar on ‘University Connect Hub-Engaging Young Minds’ organised jointly by the International relations section of University of Mysore, Maharaja college and Cauvery Ayurveda Medical college at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri campus here recently.

Stressing on the need for India to tap the youth potential in terms of  Intelligence, Skills and Research, Prof. Rangappa said  that such seminars help in utilising  the rich human resources of the country.

New Delhi’s RIS Member Dr. Sheshadri in his address, said that the ideas of youth for effectively addressing challenges in Science, Technology and Research fronts comes in handy. The RIS is functioning as a platform for Government Policy makers in addressing challenges and handling situations.

R.S. Vasan of Tamilnadu in his address, said that such seminars will help in doubling the knowledge of students. Pointing out that the country has been producing big entrepreneurs these days, he said that such entrepreneurs are creating jobs which is important to note.

Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering Principal Dr. B. Sadashivegowda said India has the potential to challenge other developed countries on the development and growth front. More than 200 representatives from across the country took part in the seminar.

The Seminar Organiser Dr. Krishnaprasad, Dr. Bharathi Hiremath and others were present.
