Former VTU VC inaugurates intl. conference at VVCE

Mysuru: A two-day International Conference on “Current trends in Computer, Electrical, Electronics and Communication (ICCTCEEC-2017)” began at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) in Gokulam here  this morning.

Speaking after inaugurating the conference, former VTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. H.P. Khincha said that data economy and digitalisation are much talked about subjects today.

Highlighting the role of data economy and digitalisation in world economy, he said that rapid strides have been made in the fields of data generation, data security, data storage and transfer. Noting that data is used at different places for different purpose, he said data has been a driver in bringing about social changes and transformation.

Pointing out that there has been a remarkable growth in data storage capacity, which has helped in expanding social connectivity, he said that such conferences will provide a platform to bring together for disseminating original results and innovative ideas among researchers, scientists and students.

Vidyavardhaka Sangha President Gundappa Gowda, Vice-President D. Shivalingappa,  Secretary P. Vishwanath, Treasurer S.N. Lakshminarayana, VVCE Principal Dr. B. Sadashivegowda, former IIT Madras faculty Prof. K.N. Seetharaman, Dr. Ganapathi Panda from Odisha and others were present.

More than 200 delegates from across India and other countries are taking part  in this conference, which concludes tomorrow.
