Four arrested for selling and storing ganja

Mysuru: The Excise Department, during their mass raids on houses and dens in Sunni Chowk on May 25 at about 7 am, have arrested four persons on charges of selling and storing ganja and have seized 14.450 kg of  ganja from them.

The arrested have been identified as Syed Nayaz Pasha, Syed Irfan, Atiq Pasha and Hazrath Pasha. They have launched a hut to nab prime accused Irfan Pasha and Shahanaz, who managed to flee during the raid.

The Excise Department personnel have registered cases of violation of NDPS Act against the accused.

The accused used to store ganja illegally and used to make small packets and sell them to students, youth, tourists and others.

The Excise Department personnel, after collecting all necessary information, conducted raids which was supervised by Excise Deputy Commissioner Jagadish Nayak in which Mysuru Sub-Division Excise Inspector K.M. Thammanna, Excise Inspector Susanna, Hidayat Khaleel, Manjunath, Prema, Mamatha, Latha, Bhagya, SI Vasantha, Krishnappa, S.R. Rangaswamy, Nagaraj, Chowdanayaka, Seetharam Singh and others took part.
