Mysuru: City Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested four shop burglars on charges of looting shops in Saraswathipuram, Kuvempunagar, Udayagiri, Nazarbad and Vijayanagar Police limits in city and at other Police limits in various districts of the State, thus solving a total of 17 burglary cases.
The four accused were arrested on Devanahalli Main Road in Bengaluru and at Mahadeshwara Hill on Sept.21. The arrested are 28-year-old Gangadhar of Karnala village in Bengaluru Rural district, 34-year-old Venkatesh of Poojanahalli village in Bengaluru Rural district, 27-year-old C.S. Santosh of Channammanahalli in Ramnagaram district and 29-year-old Chakravarthi of Kumbrahalli in Nanjangud of Mysuru and a resident of NNayandahalli inBengaluru.
During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of burgling shops by forcibly opening the rolling shutters of the shops in Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagaram and Chamarajanagar districts and at Santhemarahalli, Gadag and other places.
Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have solved six cases in Mysuru, four in Chamarajanagar three in Gadag, two in Mandya and two cases in Ramnagaram districts. The accused have spent the cash stolen by them.
The Police have recovered a Mahindra Verito vehicle used for the crime, one DVR box and have seized one LED TV which the accused had bought from the stolen money.
