Four die after voting

Virajpet: A voter in his mid-fifties died moments after exercising his franchise at B. Shettigeri village in Ponnampet taluk of Kodagu district on Friday.

Manohar (55), a resident of B. Shettigeri, is the deceased.

Manohar, who came out of Booth No.179 at B. Shettigeri after exercising his franchise at 11.45 am, collapsed after complaining of chest pain. He was being rushed to Gonikoppa Hospital in a private vehicle when he died en route, it is learnt.

Hunsur: It may be mentioned, 90-year old Puttamma had died after voting at Booth No. 212 in Tippuru village, Hunsur taluk.

Mandya: A 87-year-old man died after casting his vote in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections held yesterday. Kunduraiah of Channegowdanahalli in Maddur taluk in the district was suffering from pain in his leg. He had exercised his franchise in the morning. He returned home only to collapse and breath his last.

Tumakuru: H.K. Ramesh, Member of Mayura Yuva Vedike had cast his vote, along with his wife, at the polling booth in S.S. Puram in Tumakuru. He later went to his textile shop, where he collapsed and died.
