Four Granting Officers appointed in Bengaluru to clear Mysuru

Mysuru: The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Bengaluru, has appointed four Granting Officers to clear 4,000 pending applications from Mysuru. The Officers have been working on weekends, despite their holiday, at the RPO Bengaluru to clear the applications.

Following a series of complaints, the Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha visited the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) located at Metagalli on May 2 and found that 4,000 applications were pending from Mysuru. The MP also brought the matter to the notice of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who ordered the Regional Passport Officer (RPO), Bengaluru, to look in to the matter at the earliest.

On Tuesday, the Mysuru-Kodagu MP was informed that four Granting Officers had been appointed to look in to the pending applications from Mysuru. The MP through twitter also informed that RPO, Bengaluru, had appointed four Granting Officers who were working even on weekends and the pending applications would be cleared in 10 days.
